Welcome to the official website for the Inscriptions of Mount Athos (IMA) project.

IMA seeks to document the inscriptions preserved at the monasteries of Mount Athos, Greece. The first stage focuses on the Byzantine Greek inscriptions (ninth to fifteenth century) that are found on objects of minor arts, including reliquaries, panagiaria, enkolpia, processional crosses, book covers, patens, and chalices.
